STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION
FAIL 1031.2 - Reliability Required exit accesses, exits and exit discharges shall be continuously maintained
free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other
emergency where the building area served by the means of egress is occupied. An
exit or exit passageway shall not be used for any purpose that interferes with a
means of egress.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Clutter and debris obstructing the egress
path of the apartment.
FAIL 505.1 - Address identification New and existing buildings shall be provided with approved address identification.
The address identification shall be legible and placed in a position that is visible from
the street or road fronting the property. Address identification characters shall
contrast with their background. Address numbers shall be Arabic numbers or
alphabetical letters. Numbers shall not be spelled out. Each character shall be not
less than 4 inches (102 mm) high with a minimum stroke width of 1/2 (12.7 mm).
Where required by the fire code official, address identification shall be provided in
additional approved locations to facilitate emergency response. Where access is by
means of a private road and the building cannot be viewed from the public way, a
monument, pole or other sign or means shall be used to identify the structure.
Address identification shall be maintained.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need apartment numbers listed on all
apartment doors.
FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Extension cords in use and need removed,
wiring on bathroom light need new light. Outlets not working and all lights, switches
and electric components shall be in working condition. Correct all unsafe electric
issues in apartment.

alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Smoke detectors needed in each bedroom
and outside of the bedrooms.
FAIL 915.4 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Carbon monoxide alarms shall comply with Sections 915.4.1 through 915.4.3.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: CO detectors required in vicinity of the
bedrooms.
FAIL R1 - Unsafe Structures Is the structure found to be dangerous to the life, health, property or safety of either
the public or occupants of the structure? (IPMC 108.1.1)

FAIL R2 - Unsafe Equipment Was the presence of unsafe equipment noted during the inspection? Equipment may
include boilers, heating equipment, elevator, moving stairways, electrical wiring, and
flammable liquid containers. (IPMC 108.1.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: No heat and plumbing back up.
FAIL R3 - Unfit for Human
Occupancy
Is the structure found to be fit for human occupancy according to the code? (IPMC
108.1.3)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Unsafe to occupy in current condition.
FAIL R5 - Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair, structurally sound and
sanitary state? (IPMC 304)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Rotten wood, sofit nees attention. Exterior
lights not working.
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Sewage backed up in bathroom. Bathtub
and toilet backing up on floor. Floors in unit shall be maintained clean, free from
defects, and maintained in a sanitary condition. Doors have holes and need replaced.
Trim missing on some doors. Garbage needs removed from apartment. Kitchen
cabinets need repaired. Missing drawers and doors. Repair all holes in walls and
replace all doors that have holes.

Unsafe Conditions

Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Raw sewage in bathroom and apartment
FAIL R6.B. - Residential Heating Are dwellings provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a room
temperature of 68F? (IPMC 602.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: No heat in unit. Furnace needs to maintain
68 degrees in unit. Thermostat needs replaced in unit. Thermostat hanging off wall
and missing cover.
FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working
condition? (IPMC 603.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Plumbing system needs checked and
capable of performing intended functions. Tub and toilet backed up and not working.
Refrigerator not working and needs replaced.
