An exit or exit passageway shall not be used for any purpose that interferes with a means of egress. Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Clutter and debris obstructing egress path of apartment. Garbage piled up on front porch today by entrance door. FAIL 505.1 - Address identification New and existing buildings shall be provided with approved address identification. The address identification shall be legible and placed in a position that is visible from the street or road fronting the property. Address identification characters shall contrast with their background. Address numbers shall be Arabic numbers or alphabetical letters. Numbers shall not be spelled out. Each character shall be not less than 4 inches (102 mm) high with a minimum stroke width of 1/2 (12.7 mm). Where required by the fire code official, address identification shall be provided in additional approved locations to facilitate emergency response. Where access is by means of a private road and the building cannot be viewed from the public way, a monument, pole or other sign or means shall be used to identify the structure. Address identification shall be maintained. Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Apartment number still not affixed to door. Need listing on each door for medical and fire purposes. FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of electrical hazards Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used. Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Extension cords in use and need removed. Wiring on bathroom light need new light. Outlets not working and all lights, switches and electric components shall be in working condition. FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and multiple-station smoke alarms Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72. (IPMC 108.1.1) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: FAIL R2 - Unsafe Equipment Was the presence of unsafe equipment noted during the inspection? Equipment may include boilers, heating equipment, elevator, moving stairways, electrical wiring, and flammable liquid containers. (IPMC 108.1.2) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: NO heat and plumbing backup. FAIL R3 - Unfit for Human Occupancy Is the structure found to be fit for human occupancy according to the code? (IPMC 108.1.3) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: FAIL R5 - Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair, structurally sound and sanitary state? (IPMC 304) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Rotten wood, sofit needs attention, exterior lights not working, snow not removed around building, exterior surfaces not maintained. FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Sewage backed up in bathroom. Bathtub and toilet backing up on floor. Floors shall be maintained clean, free from defects, and maintained in a sanitary condition. Doors have holes and need replaced. Trim missing on doors. Garbage needs removed. Kitchen cabinets needs repaired. Missing drawers and drawer fronts. Repair all holes in walls. (IPMC 602.2) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Unit needs to capable of maintaining 68 Degrees. Thermostat needs replaced since it is hanging off wall. FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working condition? (IPMC 603.1) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Plumbing system shall be capable of preforming its intended function. Refrigerator needs replaced in unit.
