FAIL 1010.1.9 - Door operations Except as specifically permitted by this section, egress doors shall be readily
openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or
effort.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments:
FAIL 1018.1 - General Aisles and aisle accessways serving as a portion of the exit access in the means of
egress system shall comply with the requirements of this section. Aisles or aisle
accessways shall be provided from all occupied portions of the exit access that
contain seats, tables, furnishings, displays and similar fixtures or equipment. The
minimum width or required capacity of aisles shall be unobstructed. Exception:
Encroachments complying with Section 1005.7.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Garbage and debris blocking egress path
on stairs, porch, and side entrance.
FAIL 1031.2 - Reliability Required exit accesses, exits and exit discharges shall be continuously maintained
free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other
emergency where the building area served by the means of egress is occupied. An
exit or exit passageway shall not be used for any purpose that interferes with a
means of egress.

FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Electric hazard with light plugged into an
extension cord leading from a window to the roof over the entrance doors. Not an
approved exterior light.

Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Smoke detectors shall be installed to meet
code and maintained in operational condition.

Occupancy
Is the structure found to be fit for human occupancy according to the code? (IPMC
108.1.3)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Garbage and debris present on the interior
& exterior of the property. Unit is unfit because the tenant has kept the unit
insanitary.
FAIL R4 - Exterior Property Areas Is the exterior property area maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition? This
includes grading and drainage, sidewalks and driveways, weeds, and pest
infestations. (IPMC 302)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Garbage and debris on front porch
blocking egress path. Side egress door blocked by an appliance.
FAIL R5 - Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair, structurally sound and
sanitary state? (IPMC 304)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Several broken window on the upper
portion of the property. Upper/Lower duplex.
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Egress paths blocked on stairs to upper
unit. Front entrance blocked by garbage and debris. Side entrance blocked by an
appliance. Several broken windows in upper unit.
FAIL R6.A. - Interior Structure-
Unsafe Conditions
Were any unsafe conditions noted during the interior inspection?(IPMC 305.1.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Debris and obstructions present on stairs
to upper unit. Fire safety in the egress path for fire fighting and medical personnel.

primarily imposed upon tenants by applicable provisions of building and housing
codes materially affecting health and safety. (Ord. 5202, 2-24-2014)

BARRY STRATTON - 06/05/2020 @ 12:05 104.3 Right of Entry. Where it is necessary to make an inspection to enforce the
provisions of this code, or whenever the code official has reasonable cause to believe
that there exists in a structure or upon a premises a condition in violation of this code,
the code official is authorized to enter the structure or premises at reasonable times
to inspect or perform the duties imposed by this code, provided that if such structure
or premises is occupied the code official shall present credentials to the occupant and
request entry. If such structure or premises is unoccupied, the code official shall first
make a reasonable effort to locate the owner, the owner’s authorized agent or other
person having charge or control of the structure or premises and request entry. If
entry is refused, the code official shall have recourse to the remedies provided by law
to secure entry.

present at time of inspection.
