STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION
FAIL 1031.2 - Reliability Required exit accesses, exits and exit discharges shall be continuously maintained
free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other
emergency where the building area served by the means of egress is occupied. An
exit or exit passageway shall not be used for any purpose that interferes with a
means of egress.

FAIL 1031.7 - Emergency escape
and rescue openings
Required emergency escape and rescue openings shall be maintained in accordance
with the code in effect at the time of construction, and the following: Required
emergency escape and rescue openings shall be operational from the inside of the
room without the use of keys or tools. Bars, grilles, grates or similar devices are
allowed to be placed over emergency escape and rescue openings provided the
minimum net clear opening size complies with the code that was in effect at the time
of construction and such devices shall be releasable or removable from the inside
without the use of a key, tool or force greater than that which is required for normal
operation of the emergency escape and rescue opening.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Windows in upstairs shall be required to
have limiters on windows.
FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Several outlets have bad ground. All light
fixtures need approved globes. All lights need to be in working condition. Meter box
on house not secured and SEU cable needs replaced. SEU cable is worn/cracked.
Kitchen light fixture needs to be secured to a fixture box and wired to switch.
Extension cords are not allowed and need removed.

FAIL 703.2 - Opening protectives Opening protectives shall be maintained in an operative condition in accordance with
NFPA 80. Where allowed by the fire code official, the application of field-applied labels
associated with the maintenance of opening protectives shall follow the
requirements of the approved third-party certification organization accredited for
listing the opening protective. Fire doors and smoke barrier doors shall not be
blocked or obstructed, or otherwise made inoperable. Fusible links shall be replaced
promptly whenever fused or damaged. Fire door assemblies shall not be modified.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Doors shall be maintained in good
condition and weather tight.
FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and
multiple-station smoke
alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: All detectors shall be in working condition.
FAIL R2 - Unsafe Equipment Was the presence of unsafe equipment noted during the inspection? Equipment may
include boilers, heating equipment, elevator, moving stairways, electrical wiring, and
flammable liquid containers. (IPMC 108.1.2)

FAIL R3 - Unfit for Human
Occupancy
Is the structure found to be fit for human occupancy according to the code? (IPMC
108.1.3)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Egress paths do not comply with code since
a lot of debris is present. Potential for CO poisoning from cracked heat exchange.
Floors throughout house need replaced. Floors not maintained in good, clean, and
sanitary condition. Bathroom floor needs replaced and installed tub seal.
FAIL R4 - Exterior Property Areas Is the exterior property area maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition? This
includes grading and drainage, sidewalks and driveways, weeds, and pest
infestations. (IPMC 302)

FAIL R5 - Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair, structurally sound and
sanitary state? (IPMC 304)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Roof, Sofit, Facia, Gutters, & siding need to
be maintained in good condition.
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)

Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Peeling paint, handrails to basement, deck
stairs not to code, egress path, dining room ceiling needs repaired from water
damage. Kitchen cabinets need repaired. kitchen floor needs replaced. Doors to
bedrooms need repaired and trimmed out. Cable wires running through doors
throughout house. Bathroom walls need all holes repaired. Wall at base of stairs
needs repaired so outlet plate has something to affix to.
FAIL R6.A. - Interior Structure-
Unsafe Conditions
Were any unsafe conditions noted during the interior inspection?(IPMC 305.1.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Electrical issues.
FAIL R6.B. - Residential Heating Are dwellings provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a room
temperature of 68F? (IPMC 602.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Furnace needs replaced. Heat exchange
possible cracked and potential for Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working
condition? (IPMC 603.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Shower and tub surround needs removed
and replaced. Water leaking around tub and down into dining room. Water heater
supply lines not installed to code and installed to close to furnace. Clearance not
being maintained.
GENERAL NOTES
