STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION
FAIL 1010.1.9 - Door operations Except as specifically permitted by this section, egress doors shall be readily
openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or
effort.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Egress path has obstruction at front door
on porch area. All doors shall be functional and all hardware maintained in good
condition. Rear door & jamb is busted and needs replaced. Trim is missing on some
doors and needs replaced. hardware shall be capable of locking and latching doors.
FAIL 1103.9 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Existing Group I-1, I-2, I-4 and R occupancies shall be equipped with carbon monoxide
alarms in accordance with Section 915, except that the carbon monoxide alarms shall
be allowed to be solely battery operated.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need CO detectors in vicinity of the
bedrooms.
FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Globes are required on all light fixtures. All
electric outlets and switches will need to be in working condition.
FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and
multiple-station smoke
alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Smoke detectors needed to be installed to
meet code. In each bedroom, outside of the bedrooms, and in basement.
FAIL 915.4 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Carbon monoxide alarms shall comply with Sections 915.4.1 through 915.4.3.

FAIL R1 - Unsafe Structures Is the structure found to be dangerous to the life, health, property or safety of either
the public or occupants of the structure? (IPMC 108.1.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Open electrical wires in basement. Mold
present in basement from wall being damaged by water. Mold exposure is dangerous
and this unit has potential for mold to be unsafe for the occupants.
FAIL R2 - Unsafe Equipment Was the presence of unsafe equipment noted during the inspection? Equipment may
include boilers, heating equipment, elevator, moving stairways, electrical wiring, and
flammable liquid containers. (IPMC 108.1.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Furnace and water heater will need
repaired by licensed contractor.
FAIL R4 - Exterior Property Areas Is the exterior property area maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition? This
includes grading and drainage, sidewalks and driveways, weeds, and pest
infestations. (IPMC 302)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments:
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Potential mold in basement from leak in
plumbing & kitchen sink leaking into basement. Mold needs mitigated. All holes in
walls need repaired. Stair treads to basement shall be maintained in good and
sanitary condition. Handrails need to be installed.
FAIL R6.A. - Interior Structure-
Unsafe Conditions
Were any unsafe conditions noted during the interior inspection?(IPMC 305.1.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need handrails to basement and correct
open electric wires in basement.
FAIL R6.B. - Residential Heating Are dwellings provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a room
temperature of 68F? (IPMC 602.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Furnace does not work and will need
repaired?replaced.
FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working
condition? (IPMC 603.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Discharge tube on water heater in not
installed to meet code. Draft hood and flue not correct for this water heater.
