An exit or exit passageway shall not be used for any purpose that interferes with a means of egress. Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Basement egress FAIL 1031.7 - Emergency escape and rescue openings Required emergency escape and rescue openings shall be maintained in accordance with the code in effect at the time of construction, and the following: Required emergency escape and rescue openings shall be operational from the inside of the room without the use of keys or tools. Bars, grilles, grates or similar devices are allowed to be placed over emergency escape and rescue openings provided the minimum net clear opening size complies with the code that was in effect at the time of construction and such devices shall be releasable or removable from the inside without the use of a key, tool or force greater than that which is required for normal operation of the emergency escape and rescue opening. Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Door out of basement is locked. FAIL 1104.13 - Stairway handrails Stairways shall have handrails on at least one side. Handrails shall be located so that all portions of the stairway width required for egress capacity are within 44 inches (1118 mm) of a handrail. Exception: Aisle stairs provided with a center handrail are not required to have additional handrails. Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Handrail to basement is not secure. FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of electrical hazards Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used. Printed on 07/24/2020 @ 14:47 Page 1 of 3 STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and multiple-station smoke alarms Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72. Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Smoke detectors are needed in each bedroom and outside of the bedrooms. FAIL 915.4 - Carbon monoxide alarms Carbon monoxide alarms shall comply with Sections 915.4.1 through 915.4.3. Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: CO detectors are needed in vicinity of the bedrooms. FAIL R2 - Unsafe Equipment Was the presence of unsafe equipment noted during the inspection? Equipment may include boilers, heating equipment, elevator, moving stairways, electrical wiring, and flammable liquid containers. (IPMC 108.1.2) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Discharge tube on water heater is missing. FAIL R5 - Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair, structurally sound and sanitary state? (IPMC 304) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Broken windows. FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Broken windows, blinds in bad shape, walls not maintained, peeling paint, garbage in basement, walls and ceiling in front bedroom damaged from water. All peeling, abraded paint shall be corrected. FAIL R6.A. - Interior Structure- Unsafe Conditions Were any unsafe conditions noted during the interior inspection?(IPMC 305.1.1) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Potential for mold to form from water damage. FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working condition? (IPMC 603.1) Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Water heater missing a discharge tube.
