STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION
FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: 220 V stove wire not stapled to floor joist it
is laying across heat register. Potential for electric to charge heat duct.
FAIL 906.1 - Where required Portable fire extinguishers shall be installed in all of the following locations: 1. In new
and existing Group A, B, E, F, H, I, M, R-1, R-2, R-4 and S occupancies. Exception: In
Group R-2 occupancies, portable fire extinguishers shall be required only in locations
specified in Items 2 through 6 where each dwelling unit is provided with a portable
fire extinguisher having a minimum rating of 1-A: 10-B: C. 2. Within 30 feet (9144 mm)
of commercial cooking equipment. 3. In areas where flammable or combustible
liquids are stored, used or dispensed. 4. On each floor of structures under
construction, except Group R-3 occupancies, in accordance with Section 3315.1. 5.
Where required by the sections indicated in Table 906.1. 6. Special-hazard areas,
including but not limited to laboratories, computer rooms and generator rooms,
where required by the fire code official.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need approved fire extinguisher in rental
unit.
FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and
multiple-station smoke
alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Smoke detectors are required in all
bedrooms, outside of the bedrooms, and in basement.
FAIL 915.4 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Carbon monoxide alarms shall comply with Sections 915.4.1 through 915.4.3.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: CO detectors needed in vicinity of the
bedrooms. Currently no CO detectors in house.

FAIL R2 - Unsafe Equipment Was the presence of unsafe equipment noted during the inspection? Equipment may
include boilers, heating equipment, elevator, moving stairways, electrical wiring, and
flammable liquid containers. (IPMC 108.1.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Furnace gas leak.
FAIL R4 - Exterior Property Areas Is the exterior property area maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition? This
includes grading and drainage, sidewalks and driveways, weeds, and pest
infestations. (IPMC 302)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Large accumulation of debris in rear yard
needs removed.
FAIL R5 - Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair, structurally sound and
sanitary state? (IPMC 304)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Vents in soffit and soffit need attention.
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Peeling paint needs corrected. Front & rear
doors do not fit reasonably in openings. Doors are not weather tight. Weather
stripping is damaged and not keeping air out. Broken basement window needs
replaced.
FAIL R6.B. - Residential Heating Are dwellings provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a room
temperature of 68F? (IPMC 602.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Furnace had gas leak and will need repaired
by licensed contractor. Get a report from contractor doing work and give to rental
inspector. All registers in house will need approved covers.
FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working
condition? (IPMC 603.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Water heater draft hood not installed to
code on water heater. Have contractor secure draft hood and make sure water
heater is functioning to manufactures specifications. Furnace had gas leak. Dryer in
basement is not exhausting to the exterior of the house. Stove in house needs
replaced or new door installed on appliance.
