STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION
FAIL 1031.2 - Reliability Required exit accesses, exits and exit discharges shall be continuously maintained
free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other
emergency where the building area served by the means of egress is occupied. An
exit or exit passageway shall not be used for any purpose that interferes with a
means of egress.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Rear door needs replaced and also landing
@ rear door.
FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Electrical service grounding is not to code.
Back Strap in not hooked up to water service and grounding is interrupted by PEX
water line. 220 V wire and box hanging from bungee cord and needs corrected.
FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and
multiple-station smoke
alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Smoke detectors needed in each bedroom,
outside of bedrooms, and in basement.
FAIL 915.4 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Carbon monoxide alarms shall comply with Sections 915.4.1 through 915.4.3.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: CO detectors needed in vicinity of the
bedrooms. Need CO by front bedroom.
FAIL R1 - Unsafe Structures Is the structure found to be dangerous to the life, health, property or safety of either
the public or occupants of the structure? (IPMC 108.1.1)

Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Peeling paint and ceilings collapsing on
tenants. Rear door not being able to secure is letting in cold air. Air is mixing with
warm air on the inside and creating moisture which in-turn is creating mold to form
on walls and foundation.
FAIL R4 - Exterior Property Areas Is the exterior property area maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition? This
includes grading and drainage, sidewalks and driveways, weeds, and pest
infestations. (IPMC 302)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Front steps do not meet the code
pertaining to rise in stairs from walk way to 1st step.
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Front door is not weather tight. Rear door
is damaged needs replaced. Door hardware not capable of securing door. Ceilings in
living room, kitchen, and bathroom need repaired. Peeling paint needs corrected.
Handrails needed to basement. Landing at rear door needs replaced. Landing is not
capable of supporting imposed loads.
FAIL R6.A. - Interior Structure-
Unsafe Conditions
Were any unsafe conditions noted during the interior inspection?(IPMC 305.1.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Peeling paint, landing @ rear door, electric
service grounding, water heater supply lines, draft hood.
FAIL R6.B. - Residential Heating Are dwellings provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a room
temperature of 68F? (IPMC 602.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Furnace exhaust ducts supported off gas
line. Have all ducts supported to code and removed from being supported off gas
line. Need to install new thermostat for furnace.
FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working
condition? (IPMC 603.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Water heater supply lines not installed to
code. Draft hood not secured to water heater. Have licensed contractor installed to
code. Water lines need to be supported on floor joist throughout basement.
