RESOLUTION NO. 2020-560
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO ASPRO,
INC. OF WATERLOO, IOWA IN THE AMOUNT OF
$3,219,441.48, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS,
AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE FY 2020 ASPHALT OVERLAY PROGRAM,
CONTRACT NO. 992, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Aspro, Inc., of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a bid, in the amount of
$3,219,441.48, and is the apparent low bidder, in conjunction with the FY 2020 Asphalt Overlay
Program, Contract No. 992.
WHERAS, Aspro, Inc., submitted a written contract, bonds and certificate of insurance,
in conjunction with the FY 2020 Asphalt Overlay Program, Contract No. 992, per the
specification adopted by this council for said project with Resolution No. 2020-282 after public
hearing on April 27, 2020, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, the project will be constructed in two phases.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Aspro, Inc., submitted in the amount of $3,219,441.48, contract,
bonds and certificate of insurance, in conjunction with the FY 2020 Asphalt Overlay Program,
Contract No. 992, are hereby accepted and awarded to Aspro, Inc., of Waterloo, Iowa.
2. That the City Engineer will return to council for discussion and a notice to
proceed will be issued to the contractor in order to proceed with the second phase of the project.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
