RESOLUTION NO. 2020-565
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO VIETH
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION, OF CEDAR FALLS,
IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $82,489.50, AND APPROVING
THE CONTRACT, BONDS AND CERTIFICATE OF
INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2021
LOWELL ELEMENTARY SANITARY SEWER
RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 1026, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of $82,489.50, in conjunction with the FY 2021 Lowell Elementary Sanitary Sewer
Reconstruction Project, Contract No. 1026, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation, submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2020-555, after public hearing on July 20, 2020, in conjunction with the FY
2021 Lowell Elementary Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction Project, Contract No. 1026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Vieth Construction Corporation, in the amount of $82,489.50, in
conjunction with the FY 2021 Lowell Elementary Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction Project,
Contract No. 1026, is hereby awarded to Vieth Construction Corporation.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Vieth Construction
Corporation, in conjunction with FY 2021 Lowell Elementary Sanitary Sewer
Reconstruction Project, Contract No. 1026, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of July 2020.
