RESOLUTION AWARDING ASBESTOS ABATEMENT BID TO
ADVANCED ENVIRONMENTAL OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $158,400, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BONDS AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SERVICES AT 118 SHILLIAM
AVENUE, 179 REBECCA LANE, 514 JOHNSON STREET, 100 E.
9TH STREET, 1004 FULTON STREET, 1100 SYCAMORE STREET,
2127 E. 4THSTREET (FORMER ST. MARY'S CHURCH AND
SCHOOL), AND 1809 BLACK HAWK STREET, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Advanced Environmental Testing and Abatement, Inc., of Waterloo, Iowa,
submitted a bid in conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 118 Shilliam Avenue, 179
Rebecca Lane, 514 Johnson Street, 100 E. 9th Street, 1004 Fulton Street, 1100 Sycamore Street,
2127 E. 4thStreet (Former St. Mary's Church and School), and 1809 Black Hawk Street, in the
amount of $154,400, and is the apparent low bidder.
WHEREAS, Advanced Environmental Testing and Abatement, Inc. submitted a written
contract, bond and certificate of insurance, per city specifications, in conjunction with said
abatement survey services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the bid of Advanced Environmental Testing and Abatement, Inc., in the amount of
$158,400, in conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 118 Shilliam Avenue, 179 Rebecca
Lane, 514 Johnson Street, 100 E. 9th Street, 1004 Fulton Street, 1100 Sycamore Street, 2127 E.
4thStreet (Former St. Mary's Church and School), and 1809 Black Hawk Street, is hereby
accepted and awarded to Advanced Environmental Testing and Abatement, Inc.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Advanced
Environmental Testing and Abatement, Inc., in the amount of $154,400, in conjunction with
asbestos abatement services at 118 Shilliam Avenue, 179 Rebecca Lane, 514 Johnson Street, 100
E. 9th Street, 1004 Fulton Street, 1100 Sycamore Street, 2127 E. 4thStreet (Former St. Mary's
Church and School), and 1809 Black Hawk Street, are hereby approved, and the Mayor and City
clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of September 2020.
