RESOLUTION NO. 2020-712
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO MIDWEST
CONCRETE, INC., OF PEOSTA, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$254,230.32, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
THE WATERLOO REGIONAL AIRPORT, WATER MAIN
IMPROVEMENTS - PHASE I PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 1033, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Midwest Concrete, Inc., of Peosta, Iowa, submitted a bid in conjunction
with the Waterloo Regional Airport, Water Main Improvements - Phase I Project, Contract No.
1033, in the amount of $254,230.32, and is the apparent low bidder.
WHEREAS, Midwest Concrete, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of
insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2020-702, after public hearing on September 14, 2020, in conjunction with the
Waterloo Regional Airport, Water Main Improvements - Phase I Project, Contract No. 1033.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Midwest Concrete, Inc., in the amount of $254,230.32, in conjunction
with the Waterloo Regional Airport, Water Main Improvements - Phase I Project, Contract
No. 1033, is hereby awarded to Midwest Concrete, Inc.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Midwest Concrete, Inc.,
in conjunction with the Waterloo Regional Airport, Water Main Improvements - Phase I
Project, Contract No. 1033, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of September 2020.
