RESOLUTION NO. 2020-756
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO CAHOY PUMP
SERVICE, INC., OF SUMNER, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$238,515, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY
2020 FINAL CLARIFIER NO. 3 DEWATERING WELLS PROJECT,
CONTRACT NO. 1032, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, Cahoy Pump Service, Inc., of Sumner, Iowa, submitted a bid in conjunction
with the FY 2020 Final Clarifier No. 3 Dewatering Wells Project, Contract No. 1032, in the
amount of $238,515, and is the apparent low bidder.
WHEREAS, Cahoy Pump Service, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate
of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2020-702, after public hearing on September 14, 2020, in conjunction with the
FY 2020 Final Clarifier No. 3 Dewatering Wells Project, Contract No. 1032.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Cahoy Pump Service, Inc., in the amount of $238,515, in conjunction with
the FY 2020 Final Clarifier No. 3 Dewatering Wells Project, Contract No. 1032, is hereby
awarded to Midwest Concrete, Inc.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Cahoy Pump Service,
Inc., in conjunction with the FY 2020 Final Clarifier No. 3 Dewatering Wells Project,
Contract No. 1032, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of October 2020.
