RESOLUTION NO. 2020-668
RESOLUTION AWARDING ASBESTOS ABATEMENT BID TO
ABATEMENT SPECIALTIES, LLC, OF CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA, AND
APPROVING CONTRACT NO. AB-2020-08-1P, BOND AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SERVICES AT 120 CENTER STREET, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $11,290, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Abatement Specialties, LLC, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, submitted a bid in
conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 120 Center Street, in the amount of $11,290, and
is the apparent low bidder.
WHEREAS, Abatement Specialties, LLC, submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per city specifications, in conjunction with said asbestos abatement
services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the bid of Abatement Specialties, LLC, in the amount of $11,290, in conjunction
with asbestos abatement services at 120 Center Street, is hereby accepted and awarded to
Abatement Specialties, LLC.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Abatement Specialties,
LLC, in the amount of $11,290, in conjunction with asbestos abatement services at 120 Center
Street, are hereby approved, and the Mayor and City clerk are authorized and directed to execute
said documents.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of September 2020.
