OPENING OF BIDS All proposals received will be opened in the Harold E.Getty Council Chambers in City Hall of said City,on the 5th day of November at 1:00 p.m., and the proposals will be acted upon at such later time and place as may than be fixed by the C%Council. PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Council of said City will conduct a public hearing on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract,etc.,for demolition services, Contract No. RD-2020-11-02P,for prop- erty located at 5D8 Bratnober Street and 811 Williston Avenue, at 5:30 p.m., November 9, 2020, said hearing to be held in the Harold E. Getty Council Chambers,City Hall Waterloo,Iowa.The proposed plans, specifications, form of contract,etc.,for said project,are now on file in the office of the City Clerk for public examination.Any person interested there- in may file written objection thereto with the City Clerk before the date set for said hearing, or appear and make objection thereto with the City Clerk before the date set for said hearing,or appear and make objection thereto at the meeting set forth above. The City of Waterloo will continue to hold City Council meetings as scheduled, however in response to COVID-19, elected officials and city staff will participate via videoconferencing with elected officials and city staff dialing in to the meeting to participate. The public is invited to speak on public hearing Hems in the following ways.Call the City Clerk's Office at 319-291-4323 by 4:45 p.m. to obtain conference call information.Alternatively,you ma email your comments to comments2water- kw-ia.org and they will be read during the public hearing. Members of the public may also attend the meeting in person but will be strongly encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing. SCOPE OF WORK A. Remove and property dispose of all structures, incidental demolition debris, basement walls, floors, foundations, pn- vete sidewalks(excludes public sidewalk in street right-of-way), steps, driveways and all trees from the specified properties. B. Properly deal with any fuel tanks, outdoor toilets and septic tanks,cisterns, meter pits,and plug or abandon wells in accordance with prescribed standards. C. Remove the materials from the demolition site in accordance wish federal, state and local regulations. D. Remove and dispose of appliances and other items that may contain refrigerants in accordance with 40 CFR, Part 82.Appliances and other hems that may contain refrigerants include,but are not limited to, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and portable or central air conditioners. E. Remove and legally dispose of mercury-containing materials including fluorescent, high-pressure sodium, mer- cury vapor,metal halide light bulbs,and thermostats containing a liquid filled capsule. PCB-containing materials in- clude capacitors,ballasts,and transform- ers where the component is contained within a metal jacket and does not have a specific,legible label stating no PCBs are present. F. Disconnect all utility services before demolition. G. Perform site clearance, grading, restoration and erosion control. H. Complete the demolition work in accordance with the plans and technical specifications.
