RESOLUTION NO. 2020-871
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF CONTRACT TO
PETERSON CONTRACTORS, INC., OF REINBECK, IOWA, IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $347,873.50, AND
APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE
OF INSURANCE IN CONJUNCTION WITH F.Y. 2021
SHAULIS ROAD TRAIL EXTENSION - PHASE II, CONTRACT
NO. 1012.
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., of Reinbeck, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount
of $347,873.50, in conjunction with the FY 2021 Shaulis Road Trail Extension - Phase II,
Contract No. 1012, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Peters Construction Corp., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate
of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2020-850, after public hearing on November 23, 2020, in conjunction with the
FY 2021 Shaulis Road Trail Extension - Phase II, Contract No. 1012.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the bid of Peterson Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $347,873.50, in
conjunction with the FY 2021 Shaulis Road Trail Extension - Phase II, Contract No. 1012, is
hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Peters
Construction Corp., in conjunction with the FY 2021 Shaulis Road Trail Extension - Phase II,
Contract No. 1012, are hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and
directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of December 2020.
