RESOLUTION NO. 2020-911
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO ARENDS
EXCAVATING, OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $588,788.26, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BOND,
AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE FY 2021 LEVERSEE ROAD LIFT STATION
PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 983, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Arends Excavating, of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount of
$588,788.26, in conjunction with the FY 2021 Leversee Road Lift Station Project, Contract No.
983, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Arends Excavating submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of
insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2020-849, after public hearing on November 23, 2020, in conjunction with the
FY 2021 Leversee Road Lift Station Project, Contract No. 983.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Arends Excavating, in the amount of $588,788.26, in conjunction with the
FY 2021 Leversee Road Lift Station Project, Contract No. 983, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Arends Excavating, in
conjunction with the FY 2021 Leversee Road Lift Station Project, Contract No. 983, are
hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of December 2020.
