To: Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors
316 E 5th St. Waterloo, la.
Thank you for allocating us your valuable time. Veterans
Memorial Hall Commission (655 Cedar St. Waterloo, la.) is
respectfuly requesting from Black Hawk County surplus
equipment, a laptop computer from your Information Technology
Department. The Commission honors all veterans and commits
itself to the faithful preservation of their memory through the
collection of military artifacts of local significance. Veterans
Memorial Hall Operating Procedure ANNEX C, 2) b, states the
responsibilities of the Collection Mananger: Conduct an inventory
of artifacts and documents within the building. Catalog all items
and record them in the collection records.
Our artifact inventory records and documentation are in paper
form and deteriorating, our need is to digitize and organize them
in a technological manner. A laptop computer is essential in
accomplishing our objective. The use, control and responsibility of
stated laptop could be with the acting Collection Mananger.

Hi Nancy,
I stopped down just now to check on the work the crew did today at Soldiers & Sailors Park. The first picture is an area
they power washed off earlier this week, that is how fast the crows are making a mess. The second picture is where
they washed today. A couple days from now it will look the same or worse as the first picture. I'm sure our crew would
love to do just about any job other than this nasty one so if the Memorial Hall Commission wants us to stay off the
pavers we will but this is what they can look forward to.
As a side note -we are only able to do this work because of the very warm temperatures. When it is normal January
weather we can't power wash so sometimes we get complaints about bird droppings and there is little we can do about
it. Just wanted to mention that since this is abnormal we are able to go out and clean off the droppings. Fortunately the
crows only nest here during the winter!!
Thank you for helping convey our side of the story!! Have a good evening! 1B
