RESOLUTION NO. 2021-014
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO VIETH
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION, OF CEDAR FALLS,
IOWA, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$1,580,506.81, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BOND,
AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE FY 2021 HIGHWAY 63 ENHANCEMENTS FROM
WASHINGTON STREET TO PARKER STREET PROJECT,
CONTRACT NO. 1029, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of $1,580,506.81, in conjunction with the FY 2021 Highway 63 Enhancements from
Washington Street to Parker Street Project, Contract No. 1029, and is the apparent low bidder,
and
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2021-013, after public hearing on January 19, 2021, in conjunction with the
FY 2021 Highway 63 Enhancements from Washington Street to Parker Street Project, Contract
No. 1029.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Vieth Construction Corporation, in the amount of $1,580,506.81, in
conjunction with the FY 2021 Highway 63 Enhancements from Washington Street to
Parker Street Project, Contract No. 1029, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Vieth Construction
Corporation, in conjunction with the FY 2021 Highway 63 Enhancements from
Washington Street to Parker Street Project, Contract No. 1029, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of January 2021.
