PROGRAM In the City of Waterloo,Iowa

RECEIVING OF BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the
City Clerk of the City of Waterloo.Iowa,at
her office in the City Hall of the said City
on the 4th day of March,2021 until 1:00
p.m,for the construction of the FY 2021
COMMERCIAL ST.,KATOSKI DR„AND
HAWKEYE RD. RT TURN LANE RE-
CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM, Contract
1024 as described in detail in the plans
and specifications now on file in the Office
of the City Clerk.
OPENING OF BIDS
All proposals received will be opened in
the Second Floor Council Chambers at
City Hall,in the City of Waterloo,Iowa,on
the 41h day of March,2021 at 1:00 p.m.,
and the proposals will be acted upon at
such later time and place as may then be
fixed by the City Council.The bid opening
will be livestmanled on YouTube and
made available on the city website.
PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Council of
said City will conduct a public hearing on
the proposed plans, specifications, form
of contract,and estimate of cost for the
construction of the above-described im-
provement project at 5:30 p.m. on the
15th day of March,2021,said hearing to
be held in the Harold E. Getty Council
Chambers in City Hall in said Cay. The
proposed plans, specifications, form of
contract, and estimate of cost for said
improvements heretofore prepared by the
City Engineering Department are now on
file in the office of the City Clerk for public
examination, and any person interested
therein may file written objection thereto
with the City Clerk before the date set for
said hearing, or appear and make
objection thereto with the City Clerk
before the date set for saitl hearing, or
appear and make objection thereto at the
meeting above set forth.
The City of Waterloo will continue to hold
City Council meetings as scheduled,
however in response to COVID-19,
elected officials and city staff will
participate via Zoom videoconferencing.
If council chambers are dosed to the
public for city council meetings due to
health and safety concerns from COV-
ID-19,the city council meeting will be held
electronically via Zoom. For information
on how to participate in the electronic
meeting,visit:

public may email comments to com-

a mask and practice social distancing.

file written objection with the Cay Clerk,

SCOPE OF WORK
The extent of the work involved is the
construction of street improvements in,
along and upon portions of certain
streets,avenues, roads, and alleys,and
such other work as may be incidental
thereto along and upon the following
streets,avenues,roads and alleys,
Street improvements consisting of:
•8,nch PCC paving without integral curb
and gutter
• 9-inch PCC paving with integral curb
and gutter
• 10-inch PCC paving without integral
curb and gutter
Subgrade drain file, granular subbase,
new storm sewer and appurtenances and
other such work as may be incidental
thereto.
All street improvements consist of the
reconstruction of an existing paved street,
which is to be replaced with a proposed
street.
