RESOLUTION NO. 2021-126 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MAXIMUM PROPERTY TAX ASKINGS AS DEFINED UNDER IOWA CODE SECTION 384.15A IN THE AMOUNT OF $38,259,216, AN INCREASE IN TOTAL COLLECTIONS OF $2,912,595, OR 8.24%, FOR THE BUDGET YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2022. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa has considered the proposed FY 2022 city maximum property tax dollars for the affected levy total, and WHEREAS, a notice concerning the proposed city maximum property tax dollars was published in the Waterloo Courier February 19, 2021, and posted on the city web site and social media account, as required by law, and WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning the proposed city maximum property tax dollars was held on March 1, 2021. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the maximum property tax dollars for the affected tax levies for FY 2022 shall not exceed the following total: Total maximum levy for affected property tax levies - $38,259,216.00 The Maximum Property Tax dollars requested in the total maximum levy for affected property tax levies for FY 2022 represents an increase in total collections of $2,912,595.00 or 8.24%, of the Maximum Property Tax dollars requested for the year ending June 30, 2022. The roll was called and the vote was, AYES: Morrissey, Feuss, Grieder, Juon, Boesen, Amos NAYS: Klein PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of March 2021.
