RESOLUTION NO. 2021-217 RESOLUTION AWARDING BID TO LANSING BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., OF LUXEMBURG, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $31,300, IN CONJUNCTION WITH REGULATED ASBESTOS -CONTAINING MATERIALS DEMOLITION SERVICES AT 220 HOPKINS COURT, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BOND, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2021-170. WHEREAS, Lansing Brothers Construction Co., Inc., of Luxemburg, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount of $31,300, in conjunction with regulated asbestos -containing materials demolition services at 220 Hopkins Court, and is the apparent low bidder, and WHEREAS, Lansing Brothers Construction Co., Inc. submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with Resolution No. 2021-169, after public hearing on March 15, 2021, in conjunction with regulated asbestos -containing materials demolition services at 220 Hopkins Court. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA 1. That the bid of Lansing Brothers Construction Co., Inc., in the amount of $31,300, in conjunction with regulated asbestos -containing materials demolition services at 220 Hopkins Court, is hereby awarded. 2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Lansing Brothers Construction Co., Inc., in conjunction with regulated asbestos -containing materials demolition services at 220 Hopkins Court, are hereby approved. 3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that resolution No. 2021-170 be rescinded in its entirety.
