RESOLUTION NO. 2006-282
RESOLUTION APPROVING ACQUISITION FROM STEVENS
FAMILY TRUST AND AUTHORIZING SALE AND
CONVEYANCE TO JAMES H. SLIFE, OF FORMER
DEVIL' S DEN PROPERTY, GENERALLY LOCATED ALONG
WEST 4TH STREET, NORTH OF BLUFF STREET FOR
$1. 00, PLUS COSTS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A DEED
FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, will acquire said lot
for redevelopment of the Downtown Waterloo area,
WHEREAS, James H. Slife will enter into a Development
Agreement
Waterloobusin business onrsaid lot, asn
ndescribed below, anduct an expasion of an Downtown
and
WHEREAS, an offer to purchase said certain parcel of real
property has been made by James H. Slife in the sum of $1 . 00,
plus costs, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 10, 2006, at
5: 30 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa,
as provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
on the proposal to acquire said property, and then sell and
convey said property to James H. Slife, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Council that acquisition,
sale, and conveyance should be made as proposed.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS :
1 . The acquisition of the following described real
property, as fully described in the published notice in the
Waterloo Courier on March 27, 2006, is hereby approved and
accepted by the City of Waterloo for redevelopment purposes, and
2 . The following described real property, as fully
described in the published notice in the Waterloo Courier on
March 27, 2006 is not presently needed and will not be needed in
the foreseeable future for municipal purposes and its ownership
is serving no municipal purpose, and
3. That the offer of James H. Slife to purchase real
property for the sum of $1 . 00, plus costs, be, and it is hereby
accepted for real property described below:
Lot 7 in Leavitt, Lusch and Miller Subdivision of Lots
6 and 7 in Block 17, City of Waterloo, West Side of
Cedar River, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
4 . That the City of Waterloo, Iowa, convey said parcel of
real property to James H. Slife by Deed.
5 . That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to
execute and deliver deed to James H. Slife.
6. That the original of said deed fully executed and
acknowledged is hereby approved and confirmed by the Council .
