RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF
HEARING TO BE GIVEN UPON THE CITY' S REQUEST
TO REZONE FROM "C-P" PLANNED COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT TO "C-3" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT
PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED BETWEEN THE CEDAR
RIVER AND JEFFERSON STREET, BETWEEN WEST 5TH
STREET AND WEST 6TH STREET, THE NORTHERLY
CORNER OF WEST 5TH STREET AND JEFFERSON
STREET AND THE EASTERLY CORNER OF WEST 6TH
STREET AND COMMERCIAL STREET, AS MAY 8, 2006,
AT 5 : 30 P.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS IN CITY
HALL AND INSTRUCTING CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH
NOTICE OF HEARING.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, shall
meet in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, at 5 : 30 p.m. on the 8th day of May, 2006, for the
purpose of considering and acting upon the City' s request to
rezone from "C-P" Planned Commercial District to "C-3" Commercial
District property generally located between the Cedar River and
Jefferson Street, between West 5th Street and West 6th Street, the
northerly corner of West 5th Street and Jefferson Street and the
easterly corner of West 6th Street and Commercial Street and
legally described as follows:
191 West 5th Street
Lots Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and
14, and the Southwesterly 40 feet in even width of Lot
No. 15 all in Auditor' s Plat of Cascaden and Ballou
Subdivision of Lots 26, 27 and the Northwesterly 40
feet of Lot 28 fractional Block 6 original plat West
Waterloo;
And
All that part of Lots Nos . 28, 29 and 30 in fractional
Block No. 6 in the original plat on the West side of
the Cedar River, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa, and of the unplatted land adjoining said
lots lying Northeasterly of the Riverfront Improvement
Commission line as established, bounded as follows :
Beginning at the Westerly corner of the Southeasterly
20 feet of said Lot No. 28; thence Northeasterly along
the Northwesterly line of said Southeasterly 20 feet
and the extension of said Northwesterly line, a
distance of 252 . 67 feet; thence Southeasterly parallel
with the Southwesterly lines of said Lots Nos . 28, 29
and 30, to the extended Southeasterly line of the
Northwesterly 43 feet of said Lot No. 30; thence
Southwesterly along said extended Southeasterly line a
distance of 17 . 67 feet; thence Southeasterly parallel

distance of 17 feet to the Southeasterly line of said
Lot No. 30; thence Southwesterly along the
