RESOLUTION NO. 2006-372
RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMISSION TO JOHN P.
HUFF, JR. FOR A WAIVER FOR A CONCRETE
DRIVEWAY TO BE LOCATED AT 602 ANSBOROUGH
AVENUE ON STRATFORD AVENUE, AND AUTHORIZING
CONSTRUCTION OF A CONCRETE DRIVEWAY WITH
ELIMINATION OF THE SIDEWALK SECTION DUE TO
THE INABILITY TO MEET REQUIREMENTS OF THE
DRIVEWAY AND SIDEWALK POLICY, PARAGRAPH 1 AND
TO ALLOW SPECIAL CONCRETE COLORING TO BE USED
ON THE CONCRETE APPROACH AND SIDEWALK
SECTION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has made written application to
the City Council asking that John P. Huff, Jr. be authorized and
permitted to construct a concrete driveway and authorizing
construction of a concrete driveway with elimination of the
sidewalk section due to the inability to meet requirements of the
driveway and sidewalk policy, paragraph 1 and to allow special
concrete coloring to be used on the concrete approach and
sidewalk section to be located at 602 Ansborough Avenue on
Stratford Avenue, and legally described as follows:
Unplatted Waterloo West, part of the Northeast Quarter
of the Southeast Quarter of Section 21 Township 89
Range 13, commencing at the intersection of the South
line of Stratford Avenue and the East line of Section
21, thence West along the South line of Stratford
Avenue 174 feet to the East line of WCF&N Railroad,
thence South 200 feet along the East line of Railroad,
thence East at right angle to the East line of Section
21, thence North 200 feet along the East line of
Section 21 to beginning, except street, all in the City
of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa;
and
WHEREAS, it is the sense of the Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, that said request should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that permission is
hereby granted to John P. Huff, Jr. to construct a concrete
driveway subject to the following conditions:
1 . Work to be performed by an approved and bonded
contractor.
2 . A permit is to be obtained from the office of the City
Engineer prior to construction.
3 . All work shall be performed under the supervision of
the City Engineer and at no cost to the City of
Waterloo.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is authorized and
directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the
Black Hawk County Recorder for recording and the Black Hawk County
Auditor for filing in order that this said action may become a
matter of official County Record.
