RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
- J " WATERLOO, IOWA ENDORSING THE USE OF

. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PRAIRIE PATHWAYS MASTER
s -7 PLAN IN THE BLACK HAWK METROPOLITAN AREA.

-'' s =WHEREAS, the Black Hawk Metropolitan Area continues to
delve Pop an extensive network of trails that currently encompasses
to over 80 miles; and
- 7 WHEREAS the Prairie Pathways Master Plan is an interpretive

eject that will enhance the user' s experience through the use of
kiosks, low profile exhibits, small low profile exhibits, site
mar- eis and directional signs; and
77 �iHEREAS, seven primary interpretive sites have been
idemtafied in the City of Waterloo, with a total of four kiosks,
seen low profile exhibits, one site marker and four directional
sss` planned; and
- _WHEREAS, funding assistance is available through the Iowa
NO.rthland Regional Council of Government' s Metropolitan
Enhancement Program for the construction and installation of the
kiosks, exhibits, site marker and directional signs; and
WHEREAS, upon completion of the installation of the Prairie
Pathways kiosks, exhibits, site marker and directional signs, the
City of Waterloo certifies that the kiosks, exhibits, site marker
and directional signs within its jurisdiction will remain
dedicated ' to public use and further that the City will have
jurisdictional responsibility and will adequately maintain the
kiosks, exhibits, site marker and directional signs for a minimum
of 20 years .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the City Council of Waterloo, Iowa endorses
said project, and that with assistance of Metropolitan Enhancement
funds, the implementation of the Prairie Pathways Master Plan will
be completes and will remain dedicated to public use and
adequately maintained.
