RECEIVING OF BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the
City Clerk of the City of Waterloo,Iowa,at
her office in the City Hall of the said City
on the 29th day of April,2021 unfit 1:00
p.m. for the construction of the F.Y.
SHAULIS ROAD RECONSTRUCTION -
HESS ROAD TO US-218, Contract
RM-81551772)-9D-07 as described in
detail in a plans and specifications now
on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
OPENING OF BIDS
All proposals received will be opened in
the Second Floor Council Chambers at
City Hall,in the City of Waterloo,Iowa,on
the 29th day of April,2021 at 1:00 p.m.,
and the proposals will be acted upon at
such later time and place as may thenbe
fixed by the City Council.The bid opening
will be livestreamed on YouTube and
made available on the city website.
PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Council of
said City will conduct a public hearing on
the proposed plans, specifications, form
of contract,and estimate of cost for the
construction of the above-described im-
provement projecl at 5:30 p.m.on the 3rd
day of May,2021,saki hearing to be held
in the Harold E.Getty Corr i!Chambers
in City Hall in said City. The proposed
plans. specifications, form of contract,
and estimate of cost for said improve-
ments heretofore prepared by the City
Engineering Department are now on file
in the office of the City Clerk for public
examination, and any person interested
therein may file written objection thereto
with the City Clerk before the date set for
said hearing, or appear and make
objection thereto with the City Clerk
before the date set for said hearing, or
appear and make objection thereto at the
meeting above set forth.
The City of Waterloo will Continue to hold
City Council meetings as scheduled,
however in response to COVID-19,
elected officials will participate both in
person at council chambers and via
videoconferencing.

at 5:30 p.m. on the date of the public

SCOPE OF WORK
The work involved in this project consists
of the roadway reconstruction of E.
Shaulis Road from approximately 475'
west of the intersection with Hess Road to
400'east of the intersection with Dysart
Road.Shaulis Road Irom the intersection
with Dysart to US-218. Hess Road
reconstruction from approximately 490'
south of the intersection with E.Shaulis
Road to approximately 490'north of the
intersection with E.Shaulis Road.A new
continuous,concrete,slab bridge shall be
placed over Sink Creek. The work
involved with this project also consists of
a roundabout at the intersection of Hess
Road and Shaulis Road,new trail,water
main,storm sewer,and traffic signals.
