RESOLUTION NO. 2021-327
RESOLUTION TO RECEIVE AND PLACE ON FILE AND
ADOPT THE DESIGN RECOMMENDATION SUBMITTED BY
THE POLICE REBRANDING COMMITTEE, DESIGNED TO
BE AFFIXED TO THE VEHICLE GRAPHICS, UNIFORMS,
LETTERHEAD AND ALL POLICE DEPARTMENT OBJECTS,
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF WEAPONS/REVOLVERS, WITH
THE MAYOR BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS RESOLUTION AS SOON AS IS
PRACTICAL, INCLUDING ADDRESSING THE SCHEDULE
FOR POLICE WEAPONS/REVOLVERS.
WHEREAS, the Police Rebranding Committee was tasked with the redesign of the Police
Department insignia and presenting a final report to the Waterloo City Council, for council
approval by June 30, 2021 and,
WHEREAS, the Police Rebranding Committee has submitted a design to be affixed to
the vehicle graphics, uniforms, letterhead and all police department objects, with the exception of
weapons/revolvers, to replace the current design.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that it is deemed advisable and necessary and it is so ordered on motion
by this Council that the design recommendation submitted by the Police Rebranding Committee
be received, placed on file, and adopted. The Police Department is hereby directed to affix the
design to the vehicle graphics, uniforms, letterhead, and all Police Department objects with the
exception of weapons/revolvers, and the Mayor is hereby responsible for the implementation of
this resolution as soon as is practical, including addressing the schedule for police
weapons/revolvers.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of May 2021.
