RESOLUTION NO. 2021-364
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO CARDINAL
CONSTRUCTION INC., OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $1,810,800, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BONDS AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FIVE SULLIVAN BROTHERS
CONVENTION CENTER 2ND FLOOR RENOVATION
PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Cardinal Construction Inc., of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a bid in an amount
not to exceed $1,810,800, in conjunction with the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center 2nd
Floor Renovation Project, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Cardinal Construction, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2021-319, after public hearing on May 17, 2021, in conjunction with the
Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center 2nd Floor Renovation Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Cardinal Construction, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $1,810,800, in
conjunction with the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center 2nd Floor Renovation
Project, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Cardinal Construction,
Inc., in conjunction with the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center 2nd Floor
Renovation Project, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of June 2021.
