• H A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY

OF WATERLOO, IOWA, APPROVING APPLICATION TO
s n J THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR
13 FEDERAL RECREATIONAL TRAILS FUNDING.

.. --WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation administers
o the Federal Recreational Trails program for the State of Iowa;
ands
' T WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, in partnership with the
Black Hawk County Conservation Board, the City of Cedar Falls,
the City of Evansdale, and the Department of Natural Resources,
is investing in recreational improvements to the Cedar River in
the form of the Cedar River Water Trail project ; and
WHEREAS, the development of the Cedar River Water Trail is
c 'irtical to the revitalization and renewed interaction with the
Cedar River in Black Hawk County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is willing to maintain the
improvements within its jurisdiction for a minimum of twenty
years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo will provide local match not
to -:exceed $165 , 500 . 00, or twenty percent of the total cost for
improvements within its jurisdiction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, authorizes the application to be submitted to
the Iowa Department of Transportation for Federal Recreational
Trails funding.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Iowa Northland Regional
Council of Governments is hereby authorized to submit said
application to the Iowa Department of Transportation on behalf of
the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of May, 2005 .
