RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
AND NOTICE TO BE GIVEN ON THE PROPOSED
DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH POWERS MANUFACTURING
COMPANY TO SELL AND CONVEY FOR $1 . 00
APPROXIMATELY 1 . 6 ACRES OF PROPERTY GENERALLY
LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SYCAMORE
AND EAST 11TH STREETS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AN
ADDITIONAL 27, 000 SQUARE FOOT INDUSTRIAL
BUILDING NEAR THEIR SITE AT 1340 SYCAMORE
STREET, WITH A MINIMUM TAXABLE VALUE OF
$1, 200, 000 . 00 AND TAX REBATEMENTS FOR FIVE
YEARS, AS JULY 11, 2005, AT 5 : 30 P.M. IN CITY
HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WATERLOO, IOWA AND
INSTRUCTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH THE
NOTICE OF HEARING.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 . That the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa
shall meet at City Hall Council Chambers in the City of Waterloo,
Iowa at 5 :30 p.m. on the llth day of July, 2005, for the purpose
of considering and acting upon a proposed development agreement
with Powers Manufacturing Company to sell and convey for $1 . 00
approximately 1 . 6 acres of property generally located at the
northeast corner of Sycamore and East llth Streets for
construction of an additional 27, 000 square foot industrial
building near their site at 1340 Sycamore Street, with a minimum
taxable value of $1, 200, 000 . 00 and tax rebatements for five
years, and legally described as follows :
Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 in Block 1 of Riverside
Addition, and all of the vacated alley in Block 1 of
Riverside Addition; and also all of Lot 10 in Block 1
of Riverside Addition except that part lying Westerly
of a line drawn from a point on the Northwesterly line
of said lot 10 that is 12 feet Southwesterly of the
most Northerly corner of said lot 10 to a point on the
Southwesterly line of said lot 10 that is 35 feet
Southeasterly of the most Westerly corner of said lot
10; and also Lot 1 and 2 in Auditors Consolidated Plat,
And
Riverside Addition part of Lot 1 Block 7 commencing at
easterly corner Lot 1 and thence northwesterly along
northerly line Lot 60 feet thence southwesterly
direction & at right angle to northerly line Lot 1 to
the northerly line right of way I C R R thence easterly
direction along northerly line of right of way to point
of beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, State of Iowa.
Section 2 . That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish
notice of the time and place of said hearing in the Waterloo
Courier.
