RESOLUTION NO. 2005-587
RESOLUTION GRANTING REQUEST OF THE AFRICAN
AMERICAN HISTORICAL & CULTURAL MUSEUM FOR
VARIANCE TO NOISE ORDINANCE, ORDINANCE NO.
3094 .
Yy WHEREAS, the African American Historical & Cultural Museum,
1320 East 4th Street, is requesting a variance to the Noise
"' Ordinance on July 11-15, 2005 from 7 : 00 p.m. to 10 : 00 p.m. in
conjunction with a week-long Youth and Adult Revival event to be

held on their property which borders East 4th Street on Adams to
Linn, including choirs, musical instruments, etc . , and
WHEREAS, said Adult Revival event will exceed the limits of
the Noise Ordinance, Ordinance No. 3094 , and
WHEREAS, said African American Historical & Cultural Museum
has made formal application for a variance to Ordinance No. 3094,
-- Noise Ordinance, on July 11-15, 2005 from 7 : 00 p.m. to 10 : 00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA that the request of the African American
Historical & Cultural Museum, 1320 East 4th Street, for a
variance to the Noise Ordinance on July 11-15 , 2005 from 7 : 00
p.m. to 10 : 00 p.m. in conjunction with a week-long Youth and
Adult Revival event to be held on their property which borders
East 4th Street on Adams to Linn, including choirs, musical
instruments, etc . , be and the same hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of July, 2005 .
