RESOLUTION NO. 2005-1029
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, SUPPORTING THE ROSE OF
WATERLOO L. P. FOR LOW-INCOME HOUSING TAX
CREDIT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa has been informed by
The Rose of Waterloo L. P. that a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit
Application will be filed with the Iowa Finance Authority for
the development of affordable rental housing to be located
within the block of the Mulberry Street crossover, Waterloo,
Iowa with a legal description as follows :
Per the abstract of title and designated as assessor
parcel nos. 8913-23-426-001 to -003, and 8913-23-426-005
to -016, inclusive, and comprised generally of Lots 1,
2, 3, and 8 of Uriah DuBois Addition, Lot 49 of Morris
Case Addition, and a part of Lot 48 of Morris Case
Addition, all in Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, less
any portions thereof reserved by Seller for necessary
right-of-way,
Together with any easements and appurtenant servient
estates, but subject to any reasonable easements of
record for public utilities or roads, any zoning
restrictions customary restrictive covenants and mineral
reservations of record, if any, herein referred to as
the "Property, " all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa;
and
WHEREAS, this housing project will contain up to 64 units,
and
WHEREAS, the units will be targeted to elderly, and
WHEREAS, the project will be a new construction, and
WHEREAS, the Ownership Entity has requested local assistance
through a tax abatement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that we support and approve the
development of the aforesaid housing in our community, subject
to city ordinances and the building permit process . This
resolution is effective until December 31, 2006 . In the event
that any of the characteristics mentioned above should change
prior to the issuance of a building permit, this resolution is
null and void.
