HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-1030-11.14.2005 � as :L r~ .J .This Resolution prepared by Nancy Eckert, City Clerk, 715 Mulberry -Street, Waterloo, Iowa. \ _._ RESOLUTION NO. 2005-1030 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY ~_ OF WATERLOO, IOWA, SUPPORTING THE STERLING ;, GROUP FOR LOW-INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDIT . WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa has been informed by -the Sterling Group that a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit • _Application will be filed with the Iowa Finance Authority for the development of affordable rental housing to be located -.behind the Super Target with access points at Bethel Street and Camelot Court, Waterloo, Iowa with a legal description as ._-- --follows : The East 10 acres of the South 20 acres of the North 40 acres of the Northwest Fractional Quarter and the East 1175 feet of the South 5 acres of the North 45 acres of the Northwest Fractional Quarter, except that part of the above described parcels lying West of the Centerline of Bethel Street if extended, and except street, all in Section 2 Township 88 Range 13, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa; and WHEREAS, this housing project will contain up to 80 units, and WHEREAS, the units will be targeted to elderly, and WHEREAS, the project will be a new construction, and WHEREAS, the Ownership Entity has requested no local assistance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that we support and approve the development of the aforesaid housing in our community, subject to city ordinances and the building permit process . This resolution is effective until December 31, 2006. In the event that any of the characteristics mentioned above should change prior to the issuance of a building permit, this resolution is null and void.
