A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, APPROVING APPLICATION TO
THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR
o = s STATE RECREATIONAL TRAILS FUNDING AND
5Z. ¢ DIRECTING EXECUTION OF SAID APPLICATION BY
a = MAYOR.
c,/ _ LIHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation administers
the_ State Recreational Trails program for the State of Iowa; and
;WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, in partnership with the
ViSton Iowa Board and other agencies, is investing in
-- iiilprovements to the Riverfront in the form of the Cedar Valley
,K ver- Renaissance project; and
WHEREAS, the development of multi-use trails along the Cedar
R3uer. is a critical component of the Cedar Valley River
Renaissance project as well as the metropolitan trail network;
-and'
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is willing to maintain these
improvements for a minimum of twenty years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo will provide the 25 percent
local match as required, not to exceed $84 , 063 . 00 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, authorizes the Mayor to sign the application
to be submitted to the Iowa Department of Transportation for
State Recreational Trails funding.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Iowa Northland Regional
Council of Governments is hereby authorized to submit said
application to the Iowa Department of Transportation on behalf of
the City of Waterloo, Iowa .
