WHEREAS, the following property owners have made application to have the hereafter described real estate annexed to the City of Waterloo, Iowa. RESOLUTION TO CONSENT TO ESTABLISHMENT OF AN URBAN RENEWAL AREA BY THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AND TO SUPPORT ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY INTO THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Black Hawk County, IA, has been informed by the City of Waterloo, IA, that the City Council of the City of Waterloo is, in connection with economic development activities in or near an area commonly known as the Northeast Industrial Site, designating land situated in the County and legally described as set forth on Exhibits A and B attached hereto (the "Area") for annexation pursuant to Iowa Code §403, and WHEREAS, the Area lies within two (2) miles of the corporate limits of the City of Waterloo, and with the County's consent, is includible in the area of operation subject to the urbanrenewal powers of the City of Waterloo, and WHEREAS, in connection with the economic development activities described above the Area is also the subject of a voluntary annexation proceeding under Iowa Code §368.7 to annex the Area into the territory of the City of Waterloo, and the City of Waterloo has informed the Board of Supervisors that the City of Waterloo is capable of serving the Area with utilities and city services, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors believes that the development of the Area is necessary in the interest of public welfare of the residents of the County, now therefore BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors that consent is hereby given to inclusion of the Area in the area of operation of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, for purposes of the Urban Renewal Law, Iowa Code Chapter §403, and BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby states that it has consulted with the City of Waterloo with respect to the proposed annexation of the Area into the corporate territory of the City of Waterloo and supports the application to so annex the Area.
