RESOLUTION NO. 2021-435
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO KW
ELECTRIC, INC., OF CEDAR FALLS, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $699,750, AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT
CONTACT, BOND AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE DOWNTOWN TRAFFIC AND
FIBER OPTIC INTERCONNECT PROJECT AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, KW Electric, Inc., of Cedar Falls, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount of
$699,750, in conjunction with the Downtown Traffic and Fiber Optic Interconnect Project, and is
the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, KW Electric, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of
insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2021-252, after public hearing on April 19, 2021, in conjunction with the
Downtown Traffic and Fiber Optic Interconnect Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of KW Electric, Inc., in the amount of $699,750, in conjunction with
the Downtown Traffic and Fiber Optic Interconnect Project, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by KW Electric, Inc., in
conjunction with the Downtown Traffic and Fiber Optic Interconnect Project, are hereby
approved.
3. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of June 2021.
