RESOLUTION NO. 2004-322
RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF
HEARING AND NOTICE TO BE GIVEN ON THE SALE
AND CONVEYANCE OF DISPOSAL PARCELS ACQUIRED
AS PART OF THE MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. PROJECT
FOR $3 , 250 . 00 PER ACRE, PLUS COSTS, AS JUNE
7, 2004 AT 5 : 30 P.M. IN CITY HALL COUNCIL
CHAMBERS, WATERLOO, IOWA AND INSTRUCTING THE
CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH THE NOTICE OF HEARING.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 . That the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa
shall meet at City Hall Council Chambers in the City of Waterloo,
Iowa at 5 : 30 p.m. on the 7th day of June, 2004 for the purpose of
considering and acting upon a proposal to sell and convey
disposal parcels acquired as part of the Martin Luther King Jr.
project, and legally described as follows :
A parcel of land located in the Southeast 1/ of the
Northeast 1/ and the Northeast % of the Southeast 4 of
Section 20, Township 89 North, Range 12 West of the
Fifth Principal Meridian, in the City of Waterloo,
Black Hawk County, Iowa, more particularly described as
follows :
Commencing at the Northeast corner of said Section 20;
thence South 89°34 ' 19" West on the North line of the
Northeast 1/ of said Section 20 a distance of 330 . 00
feet ; thence South 01°00 ' 40" East parallel with the
East line of the Northeast 4 of said Section 20 a
distance of 2 , 314 . 70 feet to the present Southerly
right-of-way line of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, the
point of beginning of the parcel herein described;
thence continuing South 01°00 ' 40" East a distance of
64 . 34 feet to the present North line of the Union
Pacific Railroad; thence South 69°34 ' 17" West on the
present North line of the Union Pacific Railroad a
distance of 1, 045 . 80 feet to the West line of the
Northeast 1/ of the Southeast % of said Section 20 ;
thence North 01°07' 06" West on the West line of the
Northeast 1/ of the Southeast 1/ of said Section 20 a
distance of 85 . 59 feet to the Southwest corner of the
Southeast % of the Northeast 1/ of said Section 20;
thence North 01°03 ' 41" West on the West line of the
Southeast 1/ of the Northeast % of said Section 20 a
distance of 428 . 64 feet to the present Southerly right-
of-way line of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive; thence
North 84°51' 27" East on the present Southerly right-of-
way line of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive a distance of
360 . 02 feet; thence Southeasterly on the present
Southerly right-of-way line of Martin Luther King Jr.
Drive being a 1, 183 .24-foot radius curve concave
Southwesterly and having a 609 . 49-foot long chord
bearing South 80°13 ' 03" East a distance of 616 .44 feet
(arc length) ; thence South 65°17' 28" East on the
present Southerly right-of-way line of Martin Luther
King Jr. Drive a distance of 32 . 28 feet to the point of
beginning; containing 7 . 70 acres .
