RESOLUTION NO. 2004-183
A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO
INCLUDE UPDATED WATERLOO DOWNTOWN
REDEVELOPMENT MASTER PLAN AS AN ADDENDUM TO
THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 5, 2004, at 5 :30
p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, as
provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa on
the proposed amendment to Comprehensive Plan to include updated
Waterloo Downtown Redevelopment Master Plan, and
WHEREAS, said proposed amendment to Comprehensive Plan to
include updated Waterloo Downtown Redevelopment Master Plan is to
be considered an addendum to the City of Waterloo, Iowa
Comprehensive Plan, dated February 3 , 2003 because of its impact
on land use, development, and/or redevelopment in the community,
and
WHEREAS, said proposed amendment to Comprehensive Plan to
include updated Waterloo Downtown Redevelopment Master Plan will
be implemented using the City of Waterloo, Iowa zoning,
subdivision, and urban renewal tools and regulations, and
municipal policies and procedures, and
WHEREAS, an integral part of the development of the proposed
amendment to Comprehensive Plan to include updated Waterloo
Downtown Redevelopment Master Plan provided opportunities for
public input, and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment to Comprehensive Plan to
include updated Waterloo Downtown Redevelopment Master Plan and
its relationship to the City of Waterloo, Iowa Comprehensive Plan
has been the subject of, or a discussion item on the agenda of,
numerous public meetings, work-sessions, and presentations, and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan to include updated Waterloo
Downtown Redevelopment Master Plan is a primary tool of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa Planning, Programming and Zoning Commission;
Board of Adjustment; and City of Waterloo, Iowa staff, and
WHEREAS, said proposed amendment to Comprehensive Plan to
include updated Waterloo Downtown Redevelopment Master Plan is in
the best interests of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, to approve and adopt the proposed
amendment to Comprehensive Plan to include updated Waterloo
Downtown Redevelopment Master Plan as an addendum to the City of
Waterloo, Iowa Comprehensive Plan and also hereby replace any
conflicting plans or information previously contained in the
Comprehensive Plan.
