"' 7 O r1VHg,EREAS, the State of Iowa has created and developed the
Re etrrce Enhancement and Protection (REAP) program under the
D }.- 'ent of Natural Resources; and
r=� o WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, in partnership with the Vision
Itav tard, is investing in improvements to the Riverfront in the
frtmfp the Cedar Valley River Renaissance project; and

O <, 1EREAS, the development of a multi-use trail between llth
S ' -1.t and 18th Street along the south side of the Cedar River is
a; l` lical segment of the Cedar Valley River Renaissance project;

O WHEREAS, once complete, the Cedar Valley River Renaissance
pilect will provide a multitude of recreational opportunities for
the citizens of the Cedar Valley and the state; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is willing to maintain these
improvements .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
Waterloo, Iowa, authorizes the Mayor to sign the application to be
submitted to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for REAP
funding.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Iowa Northland Regional
Council of Governments is hereby authorized to submit said
application to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources on behalf
of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
