RESOLUTION NO. 2004-718
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, SUPPORTING RICHARD
HELGESON' S APPLICATION FOR LOW INCOME
HOUSING TAX CREDIT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa has been informed by
The ROSE of Waterloo, L. P. that a low income housing tax credit
application (will or has been) filed with the Iowa Finance
Authority for the development of affordable rental housing to be
located at 524 Indiana Street, Waterloo, Iowa with a legal
description as follows :
Linden Place Lots 3 , 4 , 5, of Block 19 and the North
15-feet of Lot 6, Block 19, except for the North 20-
feet of Lot 3 , Block 19, all in the City of Waterloo,
Black Hawk County, Iowa.
WHEREAS, this housing project will contain 60 units, and
WHEREAS, the units will be targeted to Affordable Assisted
Living for Elderly Seniors, and
WHEREAS, the project will be a new construction, and
WHEREAS, the property will have the following amenities :
1 . Central Dining Meal Program. (All living units
will have full kitchens was well . )
2 . Common areas for dining, socializing and
activities . (Computer Lab for seniors on site)
3 . Beauty shop on site, private office space for
exams, nursing visits and therapy.
and
WHEREAS, the Sponsor has requested local assistance through
a tax abatement and City HOME funds (loan) .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that we support and approve the
development of the aforesaid housing in our community, subject
to city ordinances and the building permit process . This
resolution is effective until December 31, 2007 . In the event
that any of the characteristics mentioned above should change
prior to the issuance of a building permit, this resolution is
null and void.
