c�v H RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE USE OF METROPOLITAN
O c7- ' 1-1 ENHANCEMENT FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A

s HEREAS, the Black Hawk Metropolitan Area has been
eving a network of multi-use, non-motorized trails for
sev1 years; and
c t= dHEREAS, development of a multi-use trail along Donald
tre from U. S . Highway 63 to East Lake Trail is an important
teoment of this trail network; and

WHEREAS, funding assistance is available through the Black
Hawk Metropolitan Area Transportation Policy Board' s Metropolitan
Enhancement Program and the City of Waterloo is in need of such
asssance in order to fully develop this trail; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo certifies that this multi-use
trail is within its jurisdiction and will remain dedicated to
public use and further that the City of Waterloo will have
jurisdictional responsibility and will adequately maintain the
multi-use trail for a minimum of 20 years .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the City of Waterloo endorses said project,
and that with assistance of Metropolitan Enhancement funds, the
further development of the multi-use trail will be completed, and
that the non-motorized, multi-use trail will remain dedicated to
public use and adequately maintained.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of October, 2004 .
