a H " nTH TEAS, the Iowa Northland Regional Council of Governments
bias been-,, requested to submit a regional application by the Iowa
Emergency Management Division for certain pre-defined
)communities; and
WHEREAS, the current City of Waterloo Local Hazard
Mitigation will no longer meet Federal Emergency Management
Agency requirements effective November 1, 2004, and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo City Council recognizes that
the plan must be updated in order to remain eligible for the
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) and the Pre Disaster
Mitigation (PDM) Grant Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the Iowa Northland Council of Governments is
authorized to include the City of Waterloo as a portion of an
application for funding to prepare an update of the City of
Waterloo Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of January, 2003 .
