W -Lis,EA the City of Waterloo has requested to be included
as a portion of an application requesting funding for a number of
communities within the six county Iowa Northland Regional Council
of Governments (hereinafter called the Planning Agency) region;
and:
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo wishes to engage the Planning
agency to provide certain technical and professional services in
connection with the preparation of a Hazard Mitigation Plan
Update Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that Sharon Juon, Executive Director of the Iowa
Northland Regional Council of Governments, will be considered the
Authorized Representative for purposes of applying for funds and
subsequently executing administration and preparation of the
above-mentioned project .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, Sharon Juon is authorized to
file said application with Iowa Emergency Management Division
(IEMD) for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance under
Section 322 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and
Emergency Assistance Act (Stafford Act or The Act) , 42 U. S.C.
5165, enacted under Section 104 of the Disaster Mitigation Act of
2000, (DMA 2000) Pub.L. 106-390, the Code Of Iowa (Chapter 29C) ,
or the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (Sections 1366 and
1367) .
