H Cr] COUNCIL TO REQUEST THE ASSISTANCE OF THE
H � H STAFF OF THE IOWA NORTHLAND REGIONAL COUNCIL

(-) COS. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa (hereinafter called the
v-City) has agreed to the Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement
co
creating the Iowa Northland Regional Council of Governments
(hereinafter called the Planning Agency) and is a member in good
C stApding, and

WHEREAS, the City wishes to engage the Planning Agency to
CH provide certain technical and professional services in connection
with the :
Preparation of a Hazard Mitigation Plan Update
WHEREAS, the Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement gives
the Planning Agency the responsibility outlined in Chapter 28E,
Code of Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the City has, with the help of the Planning Agency,
secured partial funding from the Federal Emergency Management
Agency for the completion of the above mentioned project, and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that Iowa Emergency Management
Division requested this update during the preparation phase of
the initial local hazard mitigation plan for the City and the
awarded funds will supplement previously awarded funds for a
similar purpose .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the Planning Agency be requested
to provide staff assistance in the above mentioned project .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, the City understands and will
comply with all guidelines as established in the agreement .
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of February, 2003 .
