HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-526-08.04.2003 rI1oHHo H Yi • NO Fr X ti O E--1 13 O RI) (Otigesolution prepared by Nancy Eckert, City Clerk, 715 Mulberry tee, Waterloo, Iowa. oo s RESOLUTION NO. 2003-526 s ssi-fW RESOLUTION DECLARING A VARIANCE TO THE 6-MONTH © kC o n MORATORIUM ON DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE VISION IOWA PROJECT IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, Ei t BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA. o t C O � 51HEREAS, the City of Waterloo is, and has been, in the g*640s of the planning of the Vision Iowa Project area located ro rk Avenue to the Cedar River, to West Mullan Avenue to Oleigiy 218, which is funded in part by Vision Iowa funds, and Et Cr WHEREAS, the Vision Iowa Project commonly known as the Cedar ' Valley River Renaissance Plan is one of the major projects along Which there is potential for the development of various businesses, which development will make a substantial impact upon the City of Waterloo, and WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, by and through the statutes of the State of Iowa, is vested with the responsibility of developing plans regarding the development of the City of Waterloo, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, deems it to be in the best interests of all of the citizens that a plan should be developed in order to provide comprehensive, reasonable regulations for development along the Vision Iowa Project, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, believes that a variance to the 6-month moratorium should be declared for downtown development within the Vision Iowa Project area located on Park Avenue to the Cedar River, to West Mullan Avenue to Highway 218 . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of TurnKey Associates, L.C. for a variance to the 6-month moratorium on downtown development within the Vision Iowa Project area, to allow remodeling of the Midwest One Bank & Trust building (formerly Citizens Bank & Trust) located at 403-405 Jefferson Street, in the amount of $130, 000. 00, be and the same is hereby approved.
