mFREAS, on July 14, 2003, the City Council of the City of
CTat r .¢io approved a reduction of $35, 000. 00 in the FY 2004 Budget
cforiNqilities Maintenance due to reduced revenues from the State

WHEREAS, with the reduction of $35, 000. 00 in the Facilities
Maintenance FY 2004 Budget, it was necessary for the Building
Official/Maintenance Administrator to identify a means to
accomplish said reduction, and
WHEREAS, in order to absorb the $35, 000. 00 reduction in the
Facilities Maintenance FY 2004 Budget and to be able to continue
to provide parts, supplies and contractual services used to
support the City of Waterloo' s buildings, it is the
recommendation of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator
that Facilities Maintenance be restructured, and
WHEREAS, said restructuring of Facilities Maintenance
includes the elimination of the Maintenance Supervisor position
effective September 30, 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the restructuring of Facilities
Maintenance, including the elimination of the Maintenance
Supervisor position effective September 30, 2003, be and the same
is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Building
Official/Maintenance Administrator is hereby authorized to notify
the current Maintenance Supervisor that said employee will be
laid off effective September 30, 2003.
