A RESOLUTION DECLARING A MORATORIUM ON ALL
s a FREESTANDING WIRELESS COMMUNICATION TOWER
er APPLICATIONS FOR A PERIOD OF SIXTY DAYS IN THE

' "WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is, and has been, in the
process of reviewing portions of the City of Waterloo Zoning
Ordinance as it pertains to the placement of wireless
?communications towers, specifically the proximity of wireless
_towers to residential homes, and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission is currently
working with many organizations and groups to ensure the final
draft is inclusive of all the necessary measures as allowed by the
Telecommunications Act of 1996, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo believes
that a moratorium should be declared for a period of sixty days,
until said amendments have been presented to, and adopted by, the
City Council of the City of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that a moratorium is hereby declared on any and
all freestanding wireless communication tower applications for a
period of sixty days from the date of enactment of this
Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of January, 2002 .
