RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF
HEARING TO BE GIVEN ON APPLICATION OF
RETIREMENT HOUSING FOUNDATION AND ROBERT
RAPPAPORT TO REZONE FROM "R-2" ONE AND TWO
FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT AND FROM "R-4"
MULTIPLE RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO "R-2, C-Z"
CONDITIONAL ONE AND TWO FAMILY RESIDENCE
DISTRICT PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED AT THE
NORTHWEST CORNER OF EAST DONALD AND EAST 4TH
STREETS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING
APPROXIMATELY 70 UNITS OF AFFORDABLE RENTAL
HOUSING WITH CONDITION OF ELDERLY PEOPLE AGE
55 AND OLDER, AS JUNE 17, 2002, AT 5:30 P.M.
IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS IN CITY HALL AND
INSTRUCTING CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF
HEARING.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, shall
meet in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, at 5: 30 p.m. on the 17th day of June, 2002, for the
purpose of considering and acting upon an application of
Retirement Housing Foundation and Robert Rappaport to rezone from
"R-2" One and Two Family Residence District and from "R-4"
Multiple Residence District to "R-2, C-Z" Conditional One and Two
Family Residence District property generally located at the
northwest corner of East Donald and East 4t Streets for the
purpose of developing approximately 70 units of affordable rental
housing with condition of elderly people age 55 and older legally
described as follows:
That part of the Southwest of the Southwest , Section
12-89-13, City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa,
described as follows:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of said Southwest
of the Southwest , thence North 00°00' 00" East along
the East line of said Southwest of the Southwest 1,1 a
distance of 33. 00 feet' thence North 89°00' 51" West a
distance of 33. 00 feet to the point of beginning which
is the intersection of the Westerly right-of-way line of
East Fourth Street and the Northerly right-of-way line
of Donald Street; thence North 89°00' 51" West along said
Northerly right-of-way line a distance of 445. 61 feet;
thence North 00°06' 00" East a distance of 200. 01 feet;
thence North 89°00' 51" West a distance of 185. 00 feet;
thence North 00°21' 51" East a distance of 308 . 41 feet;
thence South 89°00' 51" East a distance of 628 . 30 feet to
the Westerly right-of-way line of East Fourth Street;
thence South 00°00' 00" West along said Westerly right-
of-way line a distance of 508 . 45 feet to the point of
beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa.
The East line of the Southwest of the Southwest ,
Section 12-89-13 is assumed to bear South 00°00' 00"
West.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish
Notice of the time and place of said hearing in the Waterloo
Courier.
