n ' THEREAS, there has been a historical dumping problem in the

WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Waste Management has requested

west into the alley behind St . Vincent De Paul from the property
line between 433 and 439 Bratnober Street, and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Waste Management has requested
that eight foot gates be installed and double locked by
MidAmerican Energy and St. Vincent De Paul, and
WHEREAS, said action would alleviate the problem and save the
City of Waterloo an estimated $5, 000. 00 - $10, 000. 00 in labor and
deposition fees per year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of the Superintendent of Waste
Management to close the alley generally located from Bratnober
Street behind St . Vincent De Paul to the south property line of
St . Vincent De Paul toward Park Road and the alley that runs from
Columbia Street west into the alley behind St . Vincent De Paul
from the property line between 433 and 439 Bratnober Street, be
and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Waste
Management be authorized to install eight foot gates to be double
locked by Mid American Energy and St. Vincent De Paul
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of May, 2002.
